Tidal retreat, Trevaunance Cove

This is “Tidal retreat, Trevaunance Cove”. Trevaunance Cove holds special memories for me as I spent many a school holiday playing & exploring amongst the rock pools & paddling in the Sea, (I was never quite brave enough to do the full surfing thing). So when I get the opportunity to Paint a new piece of the Cove it always takes me back to those fun years.

The Cove as many will know is very rocky & full of amazing rock pools, you’re never quite sure what you’ll find & depending on the tide, whether any of the rocks have moved or the seaweed content increased or decreased. The weather & different times of the year also plays its part & due to the nature of it being a Cove the amount of light & time of day can vary wildly as the high cliffs can reduce the amount of light bathing it.

This particular day was late Spring, early Summer & a very low tide which allowed to explore amongst the pools to get a good composition & wait for the right light. It was a very challenging Painting & certainly tested me to the full, water is always difficult to achieve especially with submerged Seaweed beneath the surface & the varied textures & Seaweeds that draped the very individual Rocks.

The Original will be framed in my usual style with Originals which is an Ash frame with a deep bevel inner mount, a Conservation grade top mount & glazed using Tru-View Ultra View glass for enhanced clarity, enhanced UV protection & anti-reflection properties.

This Original is available for collection from the Gallery or can be couriered by a specialist Fine Art courier due to the risk of Glass breakage, the cost of this service is approx an additional £100 & can be arranged only by prior arrangement as the Courier only does certain deliveries to certain areas at a time, so if you would like any further information or wish to reserve it then please do contact me.
