Low Tide by Moonlight, Mousehole

This Original will be available to view at my St.Ives Exhibition in late October 2023 at The St.Ives Society of Artists, The Crypt.

“Low Tide by Moonlight” is my new take on one of my favourite locations, Mousehole. I have done many Paintings of Mousehole over the years & always enjoy the challenge of capturing its unique atmosphere of a bygone age.

I have Painted only one Moonlight Painting before & that also was of Mousehole so for this Painting I wanted to show more of the Harbour & the Boats under the effects of Moonlight. This particular evening was a very calm still evening in late Autumn under a Super Moon ( an occasion where the Moon is closer to the Earth and appears larger in the sky) As the evening drew on I was the only person in the Harbour & practically had it all to myself to gather reference which was really nice.

I had an idea in mind of how I wanted to Painting to look & there were many challenges & lots of technical difficulties to overcome but with some new processes learnt i’m really pleased with its outcome 🙂

The image size of this Painting is 450 x 590mm, when framed it will measure 640 x 780mm, it will be framed in Ash with Tru-View Ultra View anti-reflection, enhanced clarity & UV protection.

Prints will be available at different sizes including full & medium.
